About Wilder Child YYC

I founded Wilder Child YYC with one goal in mind: to provide opportunities for children to experience and engage in nature through hiking and explorative play. I am a mother of two and have spent the last six years scouting and testing out the best nature spaces for children in Calgary. My passion for working with children is grounded in over 15 years experience working with children, youth and families in communities from Fort Chipewyan to Calgary. I have five years experience working with Upstream Forest School and like to think of Wilder Child YYC as a sister off shoot to provide PD Days and Summer Camps to CBE kids. 

 

My children and I spend most of our time together in nature, whether it be hiking, gardening, or simply observing what is around us and making up stories about fairy folk and gnomes. Through the years we have found many special places in nature that we would like to share with others. One of my favourite things is to meet children where they are and watch them gain confidence as they move freely in natural spaces.
